If there's a plain old CD-ROM already fitted, or similar such devices, then just pull it out (you'll need to undo the screws securing it to the chassis..... try not to loose them on the floor, as you may need them again to hold the DVD-RW in place if it wasn't supplied with screws)....... and the cables attached to it should fit as a straight swap.
In theory, you should just be able to do a straight swap of the cables at the back, restart the computer, probably get something on the screen about "detecting new hardware", then you'll probably be prompted to install the DRIVERS for the new drive.

There's as much to know about this drive in particular as there is about any CD-ROM type drive. It needs an available IDE connector and an available power source.
That's all the connecting you should have to do. The only other things to look at are whether you want it as a slave or master drive and adjust the tab accordingly. This will be self-explanatory as you inspect your new drive. There are 3 or 4 positions for this small tab to be placed - most of them are already on the 'master' position.
Good luck - you'll be surprised how easy it is.

if it is an internal dvd writer, ie in a sparea slot, then the leads will come with it, I believe there is only one ribbon lead that goes to a long socket, and a sound lead which you dont need to plug in, if it is an external dvd writer then I dont know, but if you have a spare slot then it is easy.
