I run Mandriva Free 2007 with Firefox 1.5.0.7, and it's brilliant. There are a few problems with the new Firefox 2.0 - if you're running Linux stay with the 1.5.0.7... it's rock solid.

Of course the whole point with Linux is that constantly getting the latest, most "secure" version of a program like Firefox isn't so important, because Linux is unaffected by attacks specifically designed to damage Windows. For example, you can try to open a .exe malware file in Linux and nothing happens - because the language is different.

Good luck...

Three main browsers:
Mozilla (Firefox, Mozilla Suite, or SeaMonkey)
Opera
Konquerer

I'm sure there may be others, but these are your main ones.

Oh, and "goan aashish" - Bon Echo IS Firefox - it was the name given to the alpha (developer) builds of Firefox 2.0, in the way Deer Park was used for the pre-1.5 version, and "Mine Field" for the pre-Firefox 3.0 builds

*EDIT*
Babe19 - the "live" discs you are refering to are for TESTING/SAMPLING purposes, not long-term usage. They're fine for deciding which flavour of 'nix best suits the individual, but limited in the fact that addition software applications or drivers cannot be installed more that temporarily (unless of course you have the skills-base to modify/re-build the live disc itself).

Web broswers for linux? Usually most distro's give you an option of many when you go to install it. Sometimes it depends one what X windows you are running like KDE or Gnome.

If not go to http://sourceforge.net and take a look.
