i cant hide the address bar in IE7?

tried the view option but is not available in IE7, what is the purpose of having a address bar anyway ? i thought one of the main reasons for getting IE7 was to clean up the whole look of it, thanks

Can I ask WHY you would want to hide the address bar - kinda makes it difficult to browse to a specific page without it. Two reasons why hiding the address bar would likely have been disabled:

*It would not have beeen the most required option, as is difficult to use a browser without it.
*Security - without the address bar, how would you know if you'd be re-directed to another site location (such as in the case of a hijacked site)?


BABE19 - shut up and stop advising ppl to revert to IE6! IE7 should be considered a system-wide security upgrade (given the way internet explorer is completely integrated into the entire Windows architecture), not just a browser upgrade! Given the amount of flaws long identified in IE6, and the way they carried through the entire Windows operating system, MS has actually done something right.

And "ee eh", I agree with you that using an alternate browser (such as Firefox or Opera) for day-to-day usage is the best way to reduce virus/malware exposure, but updating to IE7 (even if you rarely use it) is STILL upgrading your Windows security.
