Usually this is caused by what is known as an "application hang". The error reasons could be many reasons.
If you open start=settings=control panel= then look on your control panel for "Administrative Tools", open and a box will come up. Where you see "applications" open and your will see red error at the time and date the "application hang" happened.
If you click on the description and open it will show the error, plus you also have the ability to send this file to Microsoft for investigation. (My personal experience with Microsoft, the don't really have an answer as to what causes an application hang in your system). Trust me it happens the odd time. If it happens all the time then your platform was not installed properly.
Plus you need atleast once per week to clean out in the same box where you open "application", you will see "system". Open and delete these files.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
