Im sorry to say i agree with you. If it wasnt for those soldiers who gave their lives for this country we wouldnt be who we are today. We would all be walking round with German accents. My father served in the 2ndWW and i know of the bloodshed he saw. They do deserve more but unfortunately with new generations like everything else things like this get forgotten. At least some remember and that is better than none remembering at least. x

It is certainly NOT fading, more people each year stop at 11 am to pay tribute, the 50 anniversary of the end of the second world war did seem to re-focus peoples minds to what those who died had done for the UK, and it has gathered strength since.

It will only fade if we let it, the people gave their life for us to be free and if we forget that then they will have given their life for nothing.
I do think more should and could be done but it will take a great effort on their behalf.
We do teach it in our schools so that the next generation won't forget either throughout the curriculum throughout the year as part of History and so forth.

I think it deserves more than to be misspelled... it's Armistice Day or Veterans Day. Besides that, I think it may be celebrated more NOW since it's wartime. I realize that many people just look at it as a holiday and don't care much for it, but that's just how they are. Not everyone will celebrate it, and that's that. It's most likely because they're cynical (no presents or turkey for them) or because they haven't had a loved one fight in a war.

You are right sadly many in this country (Britain) are ignorant or just don't care. Many died for are freedom alot of them where just teenagers yet so many of this generation have no knowledge of the sacrifices that were made or think its of no relevance. And we have those who mock and think its clever to sneer at the idea of sacrifice yet they enjoy the freedom. We should teach are children at home if necessary are nations history so they will understand how precious are freedom is and that we could lose it if we don't no the signs and lessons of the past. LEST SHALL WE FORGET!

Well, BBC figures just published on their website claims 80% of the nation will wear their colours and observe the silence, double the numebr of people who vote.
Methinks its well and truely alive, yet people miss the point

we all need to thank our Veterans who have and are fighting to keep our free will and rights for us to enjoy. All gave some and some gave all -- I remember with gratitude these brave Ladies and Gentlemen who went and did their duty so we can continue to live in freedom.
