I was thinking between 23-28 is a goooood age for marriage, and if you wanna have babies. It's also better for reproduction (having babies), since the gametes (egg cell) are still fresh. But nowadays, the younger generation are often busy, since they have to find jobs or do more studying...without any intentions for marriage...Pheww...

I don't think that there is any "chronological" age that is best suited for marriage. (I've met people of ALLLL ages that are pretty immature have NO business being married! LOL) I think that it just depends on ones own level of maturity and what they want out of life. Some are more ready than others at a younger age...some don't feel that they can fill the role of wife/mother until they are older and possibly wiser in their years. It really just comes down to your own personal situation and readiness.

Age means nothing concerning marriage. It has to do with the maturity of the people involved.

I married at 22, I was ready. I'm 29 now, I have no regrets. One of my dear friends is 37 and is nowhere near ready for marriage.

You mentioned babies. It is my understanding the idea age for procreation is 18-30 years of age. (health class was so long ago) Unfortunately in this day and age babies and marriage do not necessarily have anything to do with each other.

I was 19, but I think I was a hell of a lot mature than a lot of the 19 year olds that I meet today.

I think your age range was pretty good for most people. I can't stand seeing 40 year old women that are pregnant. It's gross and just not fair to the kids.

I'll be more than happy to elaborate for greylady. Your body stops producing as many eggs at a certain age for a REASON! You had your daughter when you were 39, that means that you'll be 57 when she graduates highschool, and if she waits as long as you did to have kids you'll be 78. Might as well kiss goodbye to seeing your grandkids grow up

i think as long as you are happy and healthy it doesn't matter. divorce statistics don't show any correlation to the age of marriage. and with the the advances in technology, nutrition and health care women now have greater freedom over reproduction than at any time in history. the whole idea of a definite age to marry and have kids seems to me to be saying that this is a women's sole purpose and it needs to be scheduled in, otherwise you'll miss out. life's too interesting to spend it worrying about meeting imposed deadlines and expectations.

Early twenties is really the best time.

I don't know why winkipink thinks 40 year women who are pregnant are gross. I had a baby at 39 and she's perfectly beautiful and healthy,

I would say at about 25. It gives you time to graduate High school and college. You have plenty of time for kids then.
