I wouldn't dream of missing it. Two minutes is a small price to pay to be ABLE to ! ! !
The thumbs down merchants and the "No" respondents should feel suitable ashamed of themselves.
Were it not for the people who fought and in many cases gave their lives for us, you people wouldn't even be ABLE to give thumbs down, especially the ones who've done it to the questioner.
Any doubters, go and read the answer given by "Ollie".

I got 2 poppies a red one and a white one-the white one is anti-war poppie. I always do 2 minutes silence espeically as my grandad died in the war. I am really pleased people do things about world problems.

I remembered the silence, but I didn't buy a poppy. It was Little odd that the silence was only remembered on one channel, whilst on 4 the S ugarbabes we're still being interviewed!! So, only people who watch BBC have a conscience?

Yes. As I have for as long as I can remember and will always do everyday. I thank all of the generations before me who paid the ultimate sacrifice to make sure that me and my children have what we do. I thank all of the current Military Members who are serving and pray that they do not have to pay the ultimate sacrifice. I thank all of the future generations who will stand in harms way and pray that they too will not have to pay the ultimate sacrifice to ensure my childrens way of life.
2 minutes is but a short time to observe. $1.00 is but a small price to pay for a poppy.
America is the greatest nation on earth because of the sacrifices of those who were able to go into harms way and paid a terrible price.

I don't wear a Poppy, but always give to the Appeal!

As always, I stopped everything and observed the silence in contemplation!.... It seems like alot longer that 2 minutes doesn't it?... Especially when others around you are doing likewise!

I couldn't find anyone selling poppies. I don't know about the 2 minute silence. I did remember to put my flag out, and my grandfather and father-in-law (my closest family veterans) are definitely in my thoughts today.

Yes and yes.
And I thought about the people I'd met through my mum's job and some of the experiences they told me about (I grew up in Southampton which took a bit of a drubbing) - the women who worked at the Pirelli factory, the pilot (who flew Lancasters and experienced working with Bomber Harris) and his late wife who was in SOE. Reading about it is one thing, talking to and spending time with those who lived it, so that we can live as we do is something altogether different. And I'm grateful that they have shared their stories with me.

Yes I remembered, but poppies are not easy to find out here in Spain.

Our American Flag is proudly displayed outside of our house, I am very proud of America, and to be American, I often think of the people that gave everything they had, so that my life here would be better, they succeeded, the sun is just coming up now, and my American Flag ('Ol Glory) is a bit faded, tattered and stained but, you know what, she has stood tattered and bloodstained before, and she will not be retired for that, she waves proudly in the breeze with a full two minute silent salute from me. I will not replace her !!!!!!! On Dec. 7th, not much attention is payed, I always close my eyes for at least 1 min. on that day and try to imagine the carnage that was unleshed on us, it must have been terrible, I salute the earlier generation than me, they had balls ! I'm to old for the military (45) but, I did join the U.S. Coast Guard Aux., I do go on patrol with them but, only as an extra set of eyes, with a radio out on the waters surrounding NY Bay. Many people say that I'm wasting my time but, I say "No-way, I'm doing my bit to help" !
