No they are not and I'm a die hard Cardinal fan. However they have the best fans in Major League baseball.
Bad As I have to say it the Yankees are probably the best team ever because they have won 26 world series. St. Louis has won 10. I will meet you in St. Louie

Hey I'm a Die-Hard Cardinals Fan but I would have to give the nod to the Boy's in Pinstripes.Up there in New York. You know the team thats won the WS 26 times, how can you say another team is better than them.

No. For one thing, they have not demonstrated any staying power. A great baseball team should show some dominance over a period of time, such as the Oakland A's of the early 1970's, or the Yankees of the late 1950's and early 1960's. In both those cases multiple championships were won. Having said that, it is more difficult now to dominate in the time of free agency. Winning one championship can be tough enough. Check again in a year, but the Cards don't look that good to me.

If you're referring to the 2006 Cards, who said this? I cannot find any articles on the Web that even remotely suggest this. As you know, the 2006 Cards are one of the worst teams to win a World Series. Hey, you start letting four teams in per league and this is what you get.

No wonder the WS ratings were the lowest ever.

I'd like to think so, seeing as how I'm a lifelong Cards fan. I don't however, think we were the best team this year. I'm ecstatic we won it all, and I think it is a testament to our drive and devotion to the game that we did, but there were better teams than us this year. That being said, I think Cardinals fans are the best fans in the game. You need only to attend a game in St. Louis to believe it.

Not this Cards team. This team is gritty and tough. Albert put them in the position to win it all and they did. But not close to being the best team. I think you gotta look at the 75-76 Big Red Machine.

4 games over .500?????? try the 96 yankees, the 27 yankees, the 61 yankees, the 56 yankees. any yankees series winner form the past would have swept the cards, the tigers simply choked against a weak team with more vets

its hard to say who the best team ever cause players are always switching around to other teams. I dont think that the cards were the best team of the year either but no one can take away from the fact that they earned it.
