For your spouse----or for a couple?
I gave (as a package decor) the cutest tree ornament of a couple in bed, and the sign of the bedspread said, ''Our First Christmas Together''.
Even for your spouse-------something like this would be nice, and then, just a gift of something he/she would like.

A someone? If you are with only a someone after one year together there is not much hope of lasting another year. I would not bother to give anything. I found three small jars of marmalade a good turn off.
If that someone is special, then cook a romantic meal, give a card with a thoughtful verse. Write a love poem. A nice bottle of wine, candles, flowers and most of all warmth understanding and kindness.

The first-year christmas I had with my boyfriend I got him aftershave (which I liked best) and a top. You don't need to go overboard. It also can depend how close you are, if your close get him something thoughtful that he's interested in, if your not, get him smellies or a top.
Little tip: Try and find out roughly what he's got you, it makes it so much easier as you know what budget you got to work with.
Happy shoppping

start collecting a dated Christmas ornament each year. there are several places where these are available. a good friend and his Lady had their first one which said " our first Christmas together " which was over 30 years ago and they get a dated one each year. now they have a special Christmas tree just for these dated ornaments.

We just got married and we decided not to buy small gifts for each other for Christmas that the other person may or may not appreciate. We have decided to get something for us that we would both enjoy. Last year we bought a tv for the bedroom. We can snuggle and watch tv.
