"His grey-blue eyes looked calmly back with a hint of ironical inquiry and the short lock of black hair which would never stay in place slowly subsided to form a thick comma above his right eyebrow."
Know what you mean- I suppose it's whether you like to stick to the books- which i do and sean connery everytime or Pierce Brosnan- but there we are.

Brainlady has got it right! That description from the book really only fits Sean Connery. Apparently, Fleming started to write the character around Connery after Goldfinger was released. That description hardly fitted Roger Moore, who I think is also a very unlikely choice for Bond, but was very succesful during the 70's. It seems that Bond is very much about the time we live in now, so we have to think what it is that makes Daniel Craig a good or bad Bond. Who knows? Verdict, though, is that it's a good film...

Have any of you actually seen the new film, or are you just speculating? Give it a chance. If all the critics (who were all of the same opinion as your good selves a few months ago, by the way) can see past the outward appearance of the actor and still rave about his fantastic performance as Bond, then surely you could do the same. I for one can't wait to see it, with an open mind.

I always thought Pierce Brosnan fit the role even when I first saw him on Remington Steele. But the real James Bond---Ian Flemming was young when he was a spy and retired out of it by his mid to late 20's. I'll give Daniel Craig a chance.

Me too. I want to know who chose him so I can smack them heh! Daniel Craig is nothing like the James Bond character we have come to know an love. Of course he should be handsome, tall and dark!!!! These are the basic requirements. What were they thinking???

Sean Connery was I suppose- but doesn't disguise the fact he's the most overrated actor ever to come outta Scotland-The Yanks love him so I suppose that tells it's own story.
Never quite got the Bond thing my love-surprised at Daniel Craig for doing it in the first place-thought he was better than that!!!

I think he could be a good Bond. A change to the cliche.
Also have you seen the reviews?? Its getting great write ups, with critics saying he's the best Bond since Connery!! Give him a chance and don't judge a book by its cover.
