I had wacked my foot on the radiotor dancing ( i kicked it) and it went reli swollen n it hurts even when I touch jus the top of the skin. I went to ER and the x-rayed it and it was normal no I woke up this morning and I can hardly moved it (its the bone that connects to the big toe) except the big toe doesnt hurt just the bone. anyway the X-ray was normal. They said it was just soft tissue damage but I'm pretty sure its not just that ?

You need trust your doctor. If you have reason to believe that he is not correct in his diagnosis, take another medical opinion.

It's hard to believe that something can hurt so bad and not be broken, but it is very much true. Especially with feet, since there isn't much room in there to swell, and there are lots of little bones and such to complain. Add to that the load that we expect our feet to carry, which is quite a lot, and you have a very painful injury. Even if you broke a toe, there is nothing that can be done for it, save taping it to the toe next to it and wearing a firm soled shoe. Put ice on it, though frozen peas work better, and try to keep the foot up, walking on it as little as possible. Take some Ibuprofen for the pain, and tomorrow try applying some heat. You can soak the foot in hot water, if you like, or use a heating pad. The idea is to increase the blood supply to aid healing. Foot injuries are usually painful for a week or so, longer if you cram it in a shoe and walk about.
You may notice a lot of bruising show up in a day or so, from a broken blood vessel in the foot. Bruising in the foot can take a good day to show completely. Although it is possible that you cracked a bone, it should have shown up on the x-ray. So likely it really is a soft tissue injury. I've heard the doctors I worked with say that those were more painful than an actual fracture anyway. At least a broken leg gets a cast and crutches, but there just isn't much to do for the foot except wait for it to heal. Meanwhile, stay off it as much as possible, and out of the shoe as much as possible. That will speed the healing as much as anything else you can do. Sorry, but that's the best there is to offer. I suppose you can always be glad it was the radiator and not the window.

I know the perfect cure for this, but it may be hard to find (depends on where you live).

Okay I did the same thing, but I dropped a heavy weight on my foot. Doctor said it was just severly bruised. I definetly thought I'd broken something.

This product may sound weired but its straight up for humans. Ask you local health store for a tub of 'dog oil'. This is a natural substance (wax like) for external use on the body. It has no side effects. The best way I can describe it is, that scene in the Karate Kid when he gets instant relieve from a natural remeidy.

Well that like this. Dog oil has been around for centuries, and has been very underated. It does not smell and it rubs in well. After 20 minutes it seemed as though the pain had reduced by 50 percent. The next day the pain had totally gone and I was plyaing football.

I can understand if you are sceptical when reading this I was too when my late gran offered it to me to try. But I swear by it.

With some products people say that if you put too much on then your body gets too used to it, but it doesnt matter with this. You can put on as much as possible. Just remember though keep it in a cool location. As this seems to melt and goes runny if it is stored in warm conditions.

Hope this helps.

Being a Massage Therapist, We're trained to listen to the patient, and take that into account when treating.....There's a possibility that you might have spider fractures of the (meta-tarsal.) Can you "flex" the toe? Is it painful to walk on? There's not much to be done for spider/hairline fractures in the MT except for an extra sock, some milk, and maybe less time on your feet. If the pain persists through some Advil. I'd say take a trip to the Podiatrist, He'll give your foot a good looking over.

Well maybe its something that x-rays dont normally detect. Like maybe u hit one of ur blood vessels in a certain way or uv just got a bruise on the inside, cause those tend to hurt alot, without actually causing much damage. Try just leaving it in cool water, thatll definately help the swelling and it may relieve some of the pain too. Try to keep off that foot too, just to help. Something else tt helps me, is rubbing Deep Heat or any of those cooling oils or lotions on it overnight, n keeping a warm sock on ur foot to keep it warm n safe from possible kicking of banesters. If it STILL doesnt help, then u better go see ur doc again. Maybe it was something he missed. Hope u get better soon :) .

ye i bet its quite swollen too....ouch
give it a couple of days to start to heal cool pack it see if that helps
and if after a few days the pain is pretty much the same then i would go back for a second opinion its your right to do so.

my friends daughter was sent home after an accident only to return cos of severe pain they had only managed to miss a broken limb, so if in doubt go back.

Sometimes if the foot is very swollen a fracture may not be seen, and there are so many bones in the foot its easy to miss. you
could go back, or try anti-inflammatory tablets and rest with your foot up with some ice.

I've experienced the same! Just give it a day or two, and it will be fine.
