Finding anyone here requires precise navigation and the ability to read color-coded maps. We get so badly turned around - entering the wrong building's lobby, backtracking through shrubbery to another - arriving 17 minutes late.

While the underlying idea of misdirection has come out in almost all the replies the agency for confusing the issues has not come out clearly in any of them. Almost every answer ascribes it to self. However, the getting badly turned around' seems to suggest that the perpetrator is someone outside.A leader 'turns around the voters so badly' that they lose complete orientation and seems to feel that what the leader says is true.A religious fanatic turns us so much found and round that we lose complete orientation . It is only after walking along the road that we realise that this was not where we wanted to go.
