I have a friend who if she got a run in one leg of her pantyhose,would cut off the offending leg (say she had a run in the right leg). Then if she had pantyhose with the left leg cut off,she would wear the pantyhose with a right leg and the pantyhose with a left leg together. That way she would extend the life of her pantyhose and save money. Yes she had great legs!

If they just have a little snag or hole in them I wear them with slacks or jeans. In the winter time they keep you warm, and they are heels are way more comfortable and attractive when worn with stockings.
Plus, I just hate those little ankle high or knee high things, they look nasty, they leave marks on my legs for hours, and never stay tight.

stockings go to the trash if damaged
pntyhose, i cut the bad leg off and wear them when i am out of hose.

stockings - save the good one and wait til u get a pair later on
tights - make good sieve also filled with rice can make good falsies

if they're not the silky kind, you can cut them into squares to be gentle facial cloths... for exfoliation or washing.
you can use them as wrist restaints in the bedroom (wink, wink)

I'd use them as a rag for polishing shoes. They work good!
