Named after a great Australian batsman Bill Ponsford, The PONSFORD stand is located at the MCG in Melbourne.Built in 1967 the stand was demolished and made way for a new stand and cost $ 430 million to redevelop the new PONSFORD stand.

Ponsford, a contemporary of Don Bradman, was a brilliant opening batsman and respected administrator who twice scored quadruple centuries at the MCG.
