"I'm gonna hold you down" (From JLO's song) mean? I am assuming that it means, "I've got your back", but is this correcT?

Taken into context with the rest of the lyrics to the song, it would appear to mean the same, but "I've got your back" means you have someone's best interest at heart and will support them/defend them. "I'm gonna hold you down" sounds like you've got revenge in mind ..keep them from advancing or moving on........think about it ... how can holding someone down be the same as having their back? But lyrics don't always follow a logical conclusion.

I dont think she means it literally..but if she did it would be quite funny to have Jlo pin you down to the floor! Tee hee hee

not familiar with the song, but it could have 2 meanings, literally to pin you down, or to keep you from advancing in life, business etc

I thought it meant that "I'll not let you progress"? Well, I guess we have to see what was being said in the rest of the song.
