Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska.
Why? that sound. It's an incredible album that basically features a guitar and a harmonica, and a very, very good voice. It's haunting and because of the simplicity of it, it's an absolutely timeless album. Brilliant lyrics in most of the songs, and some storylines to match the haunting music. It's definately a must have.

Well, I'd have to say that it's near impossible but I'll go with:

Are You Experienced-The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Reason? It was new, exciting, fresh, pioneering. It changed the course of modern music at it's time.

Honorable mention to The Sky Is Crying-SRV/Back In Black-AC/DC/Slowhand-Clapton/Why I sing The Blues-BB King/Live From Folsom Prison-Johnny Cash

Metallica - Master of Puppets. A great all around album. Every song is excellent. Some of the greatest rock riffs ever. Just a masterpiece of a rock album.

AC/DC - Back in Black. Simply put, it is timeless.

Disintegration by The Cure. The songs can stand on their own, and there are some hits on it, actually, but the songs seem to lead up to and into one another. It's a great disc just to put on for an hour and listen.

As in recent album that I have brought, I would say Razorlight. Razorlight's latest album. I have not skipped a song in that album. All the tunes are just AWESOME! They are at their best, I recommend you to get it.
