it depends on who it is. well if it were someone who was unmarried, they could do so rather than committing heinous crimes such as rape while for those married this could save mrriages as it curbs adultery and infidelity. i choose to state the positive as it was the path not taken

... you call this "inappropriate?" What time period are you living in? I'm sorry, but this is not an inappropriate question. The fact that I say this just tells you how much society has degenerated. I personally love porn and anything pertaining to sex, which is why I have such a dirty mind. lol It's both healthy and unhealthy at the same time. People like the visuals and the fantasy pornography creates. At the same time, it can become an addiction just like everything else and may POTENTIALLY be destructive. But then again, everything has the POTENTIAL to "be." Sooo... as far as the viewing age, it all depends on the maturity level of the individual and whether that individual gets off to a direct visual presentation of sex. Some people find it tasteless and vulgar while I disagree, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Besides, those who do NOT harbor an interest in porn DO have some other type of fetish... I just know they do. Everyone has something they get off to! *smiles*

Porn is definitely harmful for kids. At such an impressionable age, children should always be brought up with a healthy perception of sex and of women.
I don't think porn is too destructive for individuals. In moderate doses it seems to be quite a healthy outlet for both men and women. However, when it becomes excessive, it can be harmful when a person uses porn to replace a meaningful, healthy sexual relationhip with a real life person. Porn can also distort our perception of women. If you watch a lot of porn and have little or no experience with women in real life, you might be inclined to believe that women are all sex objects or have a certain expectation of women, especially regarding body shape, roles during sex, even the amount of body hair we are "supposed" to have etc...
On a societal level, what is interesting is that there might actually be a correlation between the increase in porn avalible and the reduction in rape. I'm not saying that there is a direct cause and effect between the two, but there has been evidence to show a link between the two. For example, in japan there was a dramatic increase in pornography avalible ever since it was made legal, yet there was a decrease in rape, sex crimes and gang rape. The same can be said for countries such as Denmark and Sweden.

Porn is a form of entertainment like any other. It's impact on society is probably less than that of mainstream TV because it is regulated and restricted to adults.
I think it can be either healthy or destructive, depending mainly on the person viewing it. Some people find fantasy and porn a healthy sexual outlet. Others take it to extremes and allow it to distort their views of women and society and sex. This is not the fault of porn, but of the user.
I believe that ths current restriction to those 18 and older is appropriate.

Well, I belive it's destructive because if so many people would commit the time they use looking at or looking up porn they'd get alot more done in the day.
I can't deny that I haven't looked it up and the funny thing is, I could of done something better with the 3 hours I looked up different sites then scrolled thru the pics and such.
Not only that I think it's lusting which is a sin.

Tough question. I have seen it destroy relationships and marriages. Looking at it gives people a false impression of what they should look for in a partner. This is the destroyer! Neither gender can have their imperfections air brushed off before climbing into bed with our spouses/significant others. People, Magazines, and the whole of society would be a happier well adjusted place if they spent more time celebrating and appreciating imperfections as unique characteristics. Once porn is made unavailable to our young children we would probably see a decline in teen pregnancys. God says that to lust with the eyes is the same as actually having committed the act of fornication. So keep your eyes guarded. (P.S....guys this will also make your wives and girfriends much more pleasant to be around.)

I'm just not seeing how pornography is so harmful to an individual or society. I would say a few things: children should not view it (although Murders on TV are OK? you have to wonder), it can dehumanize women(but that's a choice the "actress" makes:don't we have freedom here?), and it can be harmful if it takes the place of a real relationship. So yeah, I won't say it's completely harmless (most things aren't), but if an adult wants to view it and adults want to make it what's the big deal?

Is Food Destructive? It is necessary at the basic level, enjoyful at some levels, but unhealthy beyond certain levels. Each end user needs to answer this question him or her self.
The case can certainly be made that the porn industry has some predatory or destructive exploits associated with it.

Trust me. Any kid who has the internet knows about porn.
There have been books written about this, but here's the pith of it. Pornography cultures violence and is dehumanising. It takes the emotional and spiritual elements out of eroticism and replaces them with lust and a need for gratification. Typically, men will view women solely as objects of sexual desire, and women will be encouraged to be dominated by men. It almost cultures a type of rape.
In short, pornography is highly destructive- especially for children too young to understand why.
