Why aren't they allowed in a restaurant? Why can't you buy a seat for them on an airplane? Why can't you take them shopping with you? I have a standard poodle with perfect manners and an obedience title, and feel that if you spend that much time and effort in training an animal, you should be able to take it pretty much wherever you want to.

=because even though this is a free country, and we refer to free society, government and society rule all of us because "they" know what is best for each and every one of us!!! Evidently we are not responsible enough for decision making, so "they" do it for our own well being.

Where do you live? I live in central Florida, and we just passed a law here allowing our pets to dine with us at some restaurants. Pets have been able to fly for years, although in a special area of the plane. Most all Pet Super stores (PetSmart, PetCo, etc) allow dogs in their stores....welcome them, in fact! I drove a truck long distance for years, and my dog went everywhere with me! He's certainly not treated like any dog!! As society becomes more inclined to own companion animals, their acceptance in our everyday world is more commonplace! That's a good thing!

No one ever asked you to spend all that time and effort training your dog. Not even your dog.

well, thats because THATS what they r: dogs.
u have to wake up.
do u want to b a dog? just bcos u r a dog lover don't mean u wud offend our noses and sights bcos of ur dog. i am also a dog lover, but having a dog share plane seats with me?IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

because they're animals
health reasons
they won't sit still
they would get to excited in crowds
did I mention dogs poop alot
