How would Marty McFly be able to see his future self if his past self left the timeline and skipped ahead to the future? Where along the line did another instance of himself AND his girlfriend spawn? Steven Spielburg is a nut.

Well "theoretically" time travel isn't possible, so no, he wouldn't. The thing that bugs me is that if he went to the future and saw himself, then fixed what was wrong, wouldn't he remember that as his future self, and not be totally oblivious to his presence? And if he was capable of time travel, wouldn't him changing the past alter the future in such a way as to stop him from going to the past in the first place?

There is a theory that the Past,Present and The Future are all happening at the same time: aka The 4th dimension, If this is true then yes it is possible

Sense he was able to return to the past from the future, he could still exist in the future for his present self to see while traveling to the future.

I often think about that same thing. You're right he shouldn't have been there. They should have had like a newspaper from a long time ago that he reads that says, "Local Teenager Disappears"

its probably something about the space time continuim thing, like to him, his present self, time stopped but to his past and future selves it continued, but his present self didn't know, ...
