Some questions about political blogs?

I want to start a political blog and I was wondering what are some really good examples.

Also, where do bloggers get their source material from? It seems like there is so much news out there. How does one keep up with all of it without sitting in front of the CNN page constantly clicking "refresh"?

And lastly, any tips for me before I dive in?

I would just start typing your thoughts and beliefs and add as many links to news outlets you like. You can get material anywhere. I have been thinking of blogging about the pages I have found both the good and the not so good. The serious and the comic.
I would say just dive in. You can always edit anything later so just go for it.
