The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis is a fantasy story about the four Pevensie children and their adventure in the frozen land o f Narnia. The setting of the book is in an old large country house owned by a professor. The story mainly tells about the adventure of the 4 children in the frozen land of Narnia where they make numerous friends with fairy tale like characters.
Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy are sent to the countryside due to the air raids in London. They explore the huge house of the old professor. While playing a game of hide and seek on rainy day Lucy hides in a cupboard to find her self in a snow covered land called Narnia. There she befriends a faun, Tumnus who tells her that Narnia is ruled by the White Witch who makes it everlasting winter in Narnia. As he say “Always winter, but never Christmas.” Lucy goes back to her siblings but is unable to convince them.

Due to circumstances all 4 children find themselves in Narnia. 2 talking beavers shelter the children. The beavers tell them about the prophecy that when two Sons of of Adam and two Daughters of Eve fill the four thrones at Cair Paravel, the witch's power will fail. The beavers tell of the true king of Narnia, Aslan. Edmund, still in the thrall of the witch, runs away to find her. His absence is not noticed until it is too late. Realizing that they have been betrayed, the others set off to meet with Aslan. Edmund is saved by a troupe of centaurs and other magical creatures just when he is about to be killed.

The witch demands that Edmund is returned to her as an ancient law gives her the possession of all traitors. Aslan how ever refuses to give Edmund back and is sacrificed in place of Edmund. What will happen to Narnia now that Aslan is dead? Will Peter be able to make an army strong enough to defeat the white witch to know more read the book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This book is a very interesting book with a page turning plot. It is a must for all fantasy lovers.
