I've been having problems and figured I should do a virus-scan. AVG showed I had 875 infections and 1 virus. I have it set to automatically clean , but that wasn't the case. Therefore, I put in the Virus Vault and resumed cleaning. It refuses to discard it. I get a message stating:
Action Failed... Error while handling file.
It's in C:\windows\temporary internet files\content.IE5/0xqrchyr\2_z[1].htm and the name is just Exploit. I did another scan and it shows absolutely nothing, but I'm still having the same problems and that virus is still sitting in my vault. I am clueless!!!
Please Help

Use a good antivirus program. Here you have some free options from which I would recomend Avast.

Boot Windows in command line mode. (Watch your screen after a reboot and keep hitting escape until you get a text menu that offers this.)

Then after you boot to a command prompt. Type the followiung command:
del C:\windows\temporary internet files\content.IE5/0xqrchyr\*
and hit return.

This should remove the file.
Then reboot and rerun a virus scan and see if there are any other remnants of this file. If AVG still says there is that file, in the same location, you can probably ignore that message, since you just deleted the file...

You can also check the McAfee or Norton Av web sites for more information about how to remove this virus, if it still persists.

Go into safe boot and rescan - would also advise using Ewido to perform a malware scan as well.

And forget Kapersky - is no better than half the other junk around at the moment. If you want a piad-for AV, have a look at Symantec Corporate Antivirus - although designed for the business user, is available for anyone to purchase from their website
