How many freakin' times has this been asked? Too many! What I want to know is: what's the meaning behind asking this? Do these people think they'll find some kind of profound answer on a webiste? Come on, this is Yahoo Answers for anybody who can type (and some who can't) not Yahoo Answers for the richly enlightened. Why do you think they keep asking this? Are they in a jam, looking for some reason to keep living? Or do they just think they're being prophetic?

Wow, people aren't even reading the full question. They're just giving me answers on what the meaning of life is. I guess I over estimated this crowd....

Doesn't the expression "meaning of life" strike you as odd, even a little odd? Does it really feel like the same sort of question as "What is the meaning of that phrase?", or "What is the purpose of that polemic?"

It seems to me that people use "life" in this sense to mean something like "the world" in metaphysics.. that is, everything. In which case, how could it be said to have a meaning? What has a meaning that isn't created with intent? And if the world is everything, then there is nothing outside of the world which created it. And if it's inside of the world, it couldn't have created it, of course.

Of course, that's just one facetious argument. If you ask me, it's a question similar to "What is the color of sound?" ; it's unanswerable, it doesn't make sense, except poetically.

And I know, I know! Somebody would say "But I mean something when I ask it, it is not nonsense!"... but what is it that they mean? The question that comes as an answer to this one usually makes a lot more sense, and is rarely the same!

Why are you so upset? Is there something else going on in your life that's making you this angry? And, if you want an answer to your question... people are scared in this world. They really want to know what other people think about the meaning of life. What's wrong with asking that?

Well, it's because they're bored. I mean, I'm totally bored right now... but then, I'm not the one asking the question.
The meaning of life is intrinsic... It sounds simpler than it is, but the reason for living is simply to live. Nobody seems to want to accept that, so they'll keep on asking indefinitely, I suppose.

I entirely agree!

Whats the ******* point in asking the same question over and over again. Each time, recieving the same endless babble from some moron with an opinion that they could only care half-heartedly about.

If anybodies interested in the meaning of life, Yahoo Answers is not the place for you.

:::Then again, thats being negative:::

You've really shown how stupid most people are on here. They come on and they think they have all the answers, little do they now, they're not even answering the right question!

The pursuit of tomorrow and the propagation of our species; that is the meaning of life.

I'm not terribly interested in more than the title of your question, so I won't be addressing your real concern. Sorry.

People want to give meaning to something they don't understand. That's all I'm saying, because I think you have already noticed how ridiculous this question is.
