Amerika can help poor countries by jusy buying up the agriculture products, then sell it elsewhere.By buying up products they will work hard and prosper, just like China experienced now.Just by giving them money will not solved problems,it is just like giving money to a spoiled brat...buying up produce will move their economy dynamicaly and the will buy from U.S too...when everyone has work to do ,there will less conflict...this may sound naive...but think about it..you buy from them, the have the money, and the will buy from you...thats economy dynamic..santion the economy to try to overturn their regime will fail, just like N.Korea...they will try to defence themselves paranoidically, and build weapon by selling their products cheaply to their neighbor, become poorer ..China communism suddenly found monetary delight and enjoyment, and boy ,they now try hard to sell just anything you could want for your monies, and the not try to invade your country...block their economy...hell break lose!

Zak and ngchuanling n you are on the right track but you miss out on some critical pieces of information

If the US purchases products from the third world (first off, this is not free trade) because the US doesn't need to by Agriculture products from the third world, they would just be doing that to help these places out, and thats not free trade.

If the USA did this, they would need to do it forever. The moment they stopped, who would buy the goods then? What you are creating is a new aid system, which why noble, will not work, third world countries actually need to sell their goods to the final consumers internationally, in a free market.

You are right, Free Trade is what is needed, it just does not involve the USA in this example.

that sounds real good.Only problem is: if the US did that, the citizens of the poor country would be used as slaves by that countries government and the citizens would benefit very little from the work they have done and their government would take all the money! But I agree it is time the US stop giving handouts to other countries and keep the tax payers dollars in the US!
