I'm not answering questions just for the possibility to be chosen best answer, but it certainly make me feel more appreciated when it does happen. With every question I answer I do my utmost best to help the askerer. Therefor it is very frustrating when they don't even make an effort to pick a best answer. I don't mind if they choose someone else'e answer, just as long as they do so. So, please every user on this site, try to be considerate and choose a best answer!

I think Yahoo should bring in a feature that penalize askers if they don't answer their questions after a certain period. Don't you think it's a good idea?

some of the users here just ask for fun or may be for some information. they rarely come on line may be they are not online all the time.some may be having a busy schedule so when they are free they must be asking questions but when they get busy they are unable to choose an answer. may be thats the reason why most of the questions do not have best answer chosen and goes for voting. i too think the same thing what u thought. i feel may be thats the reason. but dont worry i always choose a best answer for my questions cause im online almost everyday and enjoying answering at home.lol . hope u choose mine as the best answer. lol lol

Sometimes there are too many answers. It easier to let the people pick. Besides, we get points for choosing a best answer and even that is fun to do too. I think I have learned some things by choosing a best answer.

Some times there is no answer that the questioner thinks is BEST. Then they just leave it up to the community. That's what the little thumbs up and down are for. When in doubt leave it to someone else.

Seriously, sometimes we are so involved with our actual lives that we forget to go back to the computer to check on these things. This site is fun, but it's not a commitment.

sometimes people ask questions that they'd rather have put to vote just to see what others think,cause maybe they really don't know which way to go.i know sometimes i get so many good answers that i haven't the heart to pick cause,i don't want to have to chose one over the other.

I always choose the best answer when the question is in voting. Usually I pick mine. I'm sure everyone else does the same thing.
It great I get one point for voting and if nobody else votes when I vote I get 12 points for best answer. And who ever gave me the thumbs down you probably do it to. Don't be a hipocrite.

exactly i always try to choose a best answer, cuz i love the feeling i get when i see i got the best answer in my inbox, and i would like people get that feeling too.
