pain (not even severe, but enough to take your breath away) at regular intervals. If you suspect you are in labor, get to your hospital right away! Usually hospitals will keep you if you are more than 4 cm dilated, or if your water has broken, or if there is bleeding(bright red) of any kind. There is a distinct difference between the baby doing its uterine jumps and labor pains. Get to the hospital, better safe than sorry!
Good luck on your upcoming little one!

My labour pains have always been around my tummy, as with my Braxton-Hicks contractions. You may, in conjunction with your pains, have a show or your waters may break. A show can be blood-stained mucous or a small amount of blood on it's own. The bleeding signifies the effacing and dilation of your cervix. I just "knew" when i was in labour when the pains got regular and pretty intense. Nothing you do will relieve the pain. Two of my labours have started with ruptured membranes with contractions starting about an hour later. I have heard it's easy to confuse severe back pain with labour as this is what you would suffer if your baby is in a posterior position in early labour. Always call your hospital/Dr if in doubt. They deal with this everyday....Best wishes with your upcoming arrival.

Labor contractions start in your back and radiate to the front. It feels like the tightening of a fist. Also, true labor contractions come at regular intervals and get closer together and more intense. If it is true labor, changing activity and resting will not help ease the contractions. For me, I knew I was in labor after an hour went by and I was having contractions every 5 minutes. I spent the night in the hospital and was sent home the next morning. I ended up back in the hospital later that night and my baby boy was born. I also had bloody show which is blood tinged mucus that begins and does not stop until after your baby comes, and then you have what is called lochia (bleeding like a period for up to 6 weeks after giving birth)

well first of by half of your answers you have got,you would be scared out of your wits and dont wanna do it. You should know within the first 10 to 20 minutes from the regular pains, For my first i thought i needed to do a number two. But the olny advise i can give you is just keep thinking the pains are olny going to get worst and breath. GOOD LUCK

people always say that labor feels like cramps, well i always get really bad cramps when im on my period so i thoght it was going to be like that but worse, well let me tell you it felt nothing at all like cramps it was by far the worst pain i ever had, i was so scared expecting the worst the entire time i was pregnant i had no idea how bad it really was people dont tell you that maybe so you dont stress about it but you really have no idea how bad it will be till your there. i hurt so bad i was induced at 6pm and my doctor told me i wouldnt have the baby till at least 4pm the next day and i was like no way well at around 9pm i started getting contractions they hurt but not to bad then they got worse and worse i kept going to the bathroom thinking i had to poop it was this unbearable pressure like all my insides where just pushing and grinding down my body and they where less then a minute apart so as soon as they passed i had just enough time to catch my breath before they returned i thought i was going to die, but as soon as i got the epurdial all the pain was totally gone and i was so relaxed like i was at home then i went to sleep the doctors came in to check me at 6:45am and i pushed him out by 7:02am no pain at all i barely even felt it the epudiral is the best thing ever but its true what they say all the labor pains you do have are totally worth it and you wont even remember as soon as your baby comes out

My water broke & we headed to the hospital I never had to wait for contractions. However a contraction opposed to a cramp starts in your back & pulls around to your tummy while it nightens your belly
