I have been told three years of living expenses BUT who determines the living expenses? I have lived on as little as 8,000.00 US one year-hated it but I did it and without any government help. Over here unless you are pregnant, have kids or are new immigrants you don't qualify.

Only the home office & related state departments can tell you what the minumum requirements are for getting
a) leave to remain in the country
b) a tourist or visitors' visa
c) permanent residence
d) a work permit
e) citizenship ... which are 5 different sets of rules and procedures - so sorry, but there is no short and easy answer.

But I am told it helps if you either have £1 mil pounds to invest in a UK company, follow one of the schemes that apply to shortage areas, or get a company to sponsor and take you through the whole process.

That sounds about the same for the UK. Also, if you're jobless, that helps. We're pretty generous in the UK when it comes to people claiming benefits!

dont bother coming unless you have a job i work 60 hours a week pay way too much tax to support scrounging eastern europeans who think they should be able to come and collect a 'salary' from the job centre stay away

Get a job and apply for proper immigration.

We don't need any more dependant immigrants

Apply for a job here, AND THEN MOVE.
We have wayy too many immagants..( and they smell)
