UTI's are commonly recognized by a frequent urgency, burning/painful urination, and cloudy urine. They are caused by too much sugar in your diet (cokes) and not drinking enough water. UTI's don't hurt your chances of getting pregnant, and don't hurt the baby once you become pregnant.
Some helpful over the counter medicines such as AZO STANDARD and CRAN ASSURE can help alleviate the pain and discomfort of UTIs. Taken together, they usually wipe out the infection (if it hasn't progressed too far). Drinking lots of water and cranberry juice also helps. Although these medications help with UTIs, you still need to see a doctor. They can give you strong antibiotics that will wipe out the infection and prevent it from going up into your kidneys.
Sex and chocolate should be refrained from!!! After sex, you should always empty your bladder to push out harmful bacteria out of your body. If you're having sex while you have a UTI, stop!!! It adds more harmful bacteria into your body. Chocolate shouldn't be consumed either. The added sugar will put your body in over drive trying to process all the sugar.

The symptoms are: burning while urinating, feeling like you need to urinate a lot, itching, cloudy urine. There can be more depending on how bad the infection is. It can feel like you are in fact, getting a flu.
It shouldn't cause any problems for pregnancy however, if you are pregnant, you need to see a doctor. While there are some urinary alkilisers you can get from pharmacies (drug stores) they may not be strong enough depending on the infection. You also need to be careful of what you take while you are pregnant as medication can be an issue. It's possible you may also require antibiotics depending on the severity.
To prevent further issues, drinking cranberry juice is useful and has been found to help stop UTIs and thrush.
It's best to go and see a doctor to be sure. They'll do a quick test and be able to advise you of the best solution for you.

Painful urination and feeling like you have to pee often are the major symptoms. Go to www.webmd.com ... there's lots of info on UTIs there. If you do have a UTI you need to go to the doctor to get antibiotics. It also helps to drink cranberry juice on a regular basis to avoid getting another UTI.

Well all the other answers pretty much covered the symptoms... but hey listen up: THE OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATIONS YOU GET AT WAL-MART OR A DRUG STORE DO NOT CURE YOUR INFECTION!! THEY ARE ONLY TO HELP ALLEVIATE THE SYMPTOMS UNTIL YOU CAN GET TO THE DOCTOR! GO TO THE DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY AND GET AN ANTIBIOTIC. AND YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE AZO OR ANY SIMILAR PRODUCT LONGER THAN 2 DAYS!!

The symptoms are: Strong smelling urine and a burning sensation. As for having a baby, I am not sure. I hear they are common while pregnant.
