For my community and family studies class i have to care for a mechanical baby for 3 nights. It cries every 2 hours sometimes less. Is this normal for a real baby aged 3-4 months?

Babies cry when they need something - food, diaper change, help for a stomach ache, attention. It is the only way they have to get you to pay attention to them. Most babies at 3-4 months still need to be fed about every 4 hours. In between they may have other needs.

Sounds very normal to me.

They should throw in a time where they cry for an hour just because they're tired, but keep fighting their want to fall asleep.

It's so fun when babies do that :P
