It's never to late to be what you might have been. If you don't like your life change it don't end it. Peace!

You obviously have depression. And you are anhedonic, wich means you derive pelasure from nothing. Its doesnt sound liek you have always been this way, since you make describe your situation as something exceptional. Think back to better times. You did not want to kill yourself then. Why?If you kill yourself you can never regain that. Did you know that suicide rates correlate not with stress rates but with population density and IQ?
It sounds liek you doubt what your saying, or maybe your judgement. If you judgement is to be doubted why not then your beleif that life has no point? And you say you spend all of your time studying. That does explain things. Sounds like you ahve limited social contact, (see comment earlier) by choice, because you place little value on it, or worse, you have no freinds(I hate the way that sounds). Stop contemplating this, it will only lead you closer to comminiting the act. And you dont just hit"Whoops, restart level" Want some advice?
Get on your stomach, on the floor, and do 15 pushups, you'll feel a little better. Want an even better idea?Go talk to someone. IF a stranger. Even if it sucks, you'll feel better. And thats what decisions are based on, feelings, not logic, to stop trying to dismantle idea of a purposefull existance, and do something that makes you feel good. Before its too late.

I feel so sorry that you feel like this. Life is good, I can't wait to wake up each morning, there are so many things to do. Maybe you are studying the wrong subject in college, why not try to do a different course. You need to find some good friends and have some fun, go on adventures, etc. One day you'll fall in love and you will understand exactly what I mean about not being able to wait to wake up in the morning. How about doing some charity work, I think that may make you feel good about yourself, just knowing that you have helped another human being. Please be strong, I am sure life will improve, however you must try helping yourself.

Hope is empty if you don't believe in it and is useless (I think) unless you believe in God. Believe me, you will have many more moments like these in your life. What keeps me going ( and I ain't no Christian by a long shot) is just gladness about stuff. There was one night in particular in my past where I thought 'This is it' and I sat on the edge of my bed with a bottle of pills. I didn't swallow them obviously but this song came on the radio about how all these things in life suck but what about the things you would miss or have missed out on if you did. I think about that often. If I had offed myself on that day I would never have gone and climbed The Great wall of China, never had the chance to excel at university. It's pretty cool. I still hate my life at times but it is a nasty thing to have on your brain. Work is not life. Earn the money and travel. Or take a few philosophy classes and learn about perspectives on life. You'll be alright. As far as family and people missing you, there is always someone who loves you more than you will ever know.

My heart goes out to people who talk like this. You are very fortunate to be able to go to college and whenever you think about killing yourself and saying life isn't worth living you think of all the soldiers who are over there fighting that would do anything just to get back home to their families and better yet how sad god is that he died for us so that we could live and you selfishly think of killing yourself. Get up and quit throwing a pity party for yourself and put some joy in your life and be thankful for the wisdom that you have and try to think of ways in which you can be a positive roll model to some less fortunate person than yourself. Keep Your Head UP God Loves You!

Good question, I think everybody feels this way sometimes, I know I have.
We can learn things from nature, like how pathetic animals will do anything to not die.
Us humans seem like the only ones who are suicidal.
I think it's this huge fear of where you actually go when you die. Nobody knows the truth. You could probably go to an even worse place than you are.
What keeps me from killing myself?
There's so many things in life that I haven't gotten the chance to do yet, and everyone says that life is "supposed to get better."
you might want to check out this site, some people have told me it has helped them:

I understand where you are comming from. You need to spark some interest in something, anything. Please yourself with some kind of activity, quit school and get a life?Nobody said life would be easy but you don't need to be a wimp and take your own life.I see you got upset about religion, that's ok,I don't buy all that either but at least you have some emotions. Please don't do anything to stupid, you can't be stupid if you are in classes like calculas,Maybe talk to friends or a counselor,Heck,I'll talk to you.

I beleive that there is a plan ahead for you...
You can't just count on hope...you have to believe and MAKE your life worth living!
I know you are facing lonliness right now, and that in itself is a feeling of emptiness and hurt...DON'T dwell in that sorrow...life is full of disappointments and sorrows...but there is ALWAYS a rainbow after the rain...Know that everyday the sun shines bright JUST for you!...lift yourself up and GO DO SOMETHING YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO but could not find time to do it...DO SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY...there has to be something....
You control your destiny...don't let temptation win your mind...you are in the driver seat...where you go...ONLY YOU will take YOU!
May God bless you :)

have you ever read something and believed it?? I read the bible and i believe.... wait before u skip to the next answer just hear me out!! the Lord has a purpose for us all and in time we will all see what that purpose is. I myself has dealt with alot of heartache, money problems and yes thoughts of taking my own life... what did i do i prayed and prayed!!! the first step is giving your life to him and letting him into your heart, there is no better friend than the friend you have in Jesus!!! He too will help you find that special someone!!! i hope that one day you will realize that this world did not create itself! take that money and do something helpful like giving to your community. i trust that you took this into consideration.

Get your mind off your mind. When you sit and think about stuff like this it's usually because you're absorbed with you. What keeps me going is knowing that people like you are out there and if I left this earth there would be one less of me and would tip the scales in your kinds direction. Life isn't about only you. It's about helping people and giving. Life isn't about having hope to keep yourself alive, it's about having it to share with other people through good works. Eventually you'll figure this out, but until you do it's going to be a long road.
