It all depends. I know that I lost about 20 lbs after I had mine, but that was because food lost all its taste to me for about 4 weeks and I had no desire to eat (side effect of the anesthesia). Once I got an appetite again, I only gained back about 5 of the 20lbs because I watched what I ate and began to exercise as soon as I could. Having a hyst. can cause you to gain weight due to the lack of hormones and your body not burning calories as fast as it once had. But I wanted to lose about 15lbs before I had the surgery anyway, so it worked out for my benefit, lol. Hope this helps you!

People react differently to surgery. Some people lose their appetite after they have a procedure like that done. some after having a hysterectomy gain weight. It puts restrictions on your activity levels. You wont be able to exercise, or lift anything heavy, or move around a whole lot so the only thing that can really help aid in losing weight is by watching what your eating while your less active.

It is the other way. U r more likely gain weight for the simple reasons that
1 ur worries r over and
2. there will be no loss of blood due to menses and
3. u r tempted to be less active due to operation.

the hysterectomy is certainly the quandary. It absolutely messes together with your hormones. The fine factor to do is uncover a few ordinary treatments. See a naturopathic health practitioner. An MD will simply deliver you extra medicinal drugs with extra unhealthy aspect results.

I know several people who have had hystys fat and slim and it does not seem to change a weight issue at all. all of the people that were slim still are and all of the people that are fat are still fat or fatter.
