With all the advances in science with satellites, computers etc, why can't we predict the weather? It seems that even with all this technology predicting the weather is still so unreliable. Why?

It is too complex; too much data and too many variables even for our most advanced computers.

To some degree we can predict the weather, but for the answers we have to look into the clues provided by Mother Nature. Many animals prepare for the coming seasons in accordance with some inner instinct. They seem to know the length and intensity of the coming winter, for example, so we can know it too by observing their behaviour. In the autumn, the oak trees produce the acorns to help animals survive through the winter, and the amount of fallen acorns gives us a clue to the length and severity of weather to come. The early fall of acorns predicts an early winter, for example, and a very heavy crop of acorns warns us to prepare for a long, harsh winter. The old farmers knew many more such clues that weren't formatted into the scientific formula, just a bunch of subjective observations, thus not "scientific" enough.

technology isnt that scientific yet. Our planet and weather are suppose to be mysterious, if we can predict it, this world would become just a little boring.
And if we can predict the weather some crazy scientist would try to CONTROL the weather.

We're just not that technologically advance yet. Why can't we figure out what really happens after we die? and etc etc....a lot of questions have been unanswered...so far the satellites and stuff like that help predict it,,,theyre just clues.

How can you say that we can't predict the weather? We can predict the weather, but you know...about standard deviation....there always exists standard deviation...so sometimes we don't get the weather as we predicted....(X±Y)...

No one can predict the weather. God decides, not humans.

We use these to try and see patterns in the weather and make logical assumptions from there on. It's getting better but nothing is ever foolproof.

I can. I broke my back last year and now I can wake up and let you know if it's going to rain or not. My back gets all stiff and hurts like a ***** when it's going to rain.
