The country that invents the console gets it first. Like we got the Xbox and the Xbox 360 first. Another reason is it takes longer to translate the menus over to english, so they go ahead and release it in Japan whie there working on the translation. Yet another reason is test marketing, if the a game system doesn't do good in Japan then producer may save alot of money by canceling the US production. Just for the record the US is far more advanced then Japan, however it is in the military division. The US lets Japan make the electronics, and in turn the US protects Japan. Thats one reason Japan has the money to produce the technology is it doesn't have to defend itself. Infact if Japan rallied a militia in order to fight North Korea, they would violate international treaty and the US would have to do something about it.

usually the when it comes to games and consoles japan usually gets it first MOSTLY because the host company is in that country.
if it makes you any happier XBOX and XBOX360 where released here first. by Microsoft (aMerican company)
it's getting a little better though...
again if it make you feel better japan is only getting the PS3 a week before the US. AND they're only getting about 80,000 consoles while we're getting 400,000.. 11/11 and 11/17
AND things just suck if you live in Europe. they're not getting it the mArch 2007
the normal reason for most games being delayed is to come to the US is usually the translation...
japanese gamers obivously don't get the sports games first, that, that just wouldn't make anysense.
Wii: Japan(12/2) US(11/19)

Because it was made in Japan. Just like the 360, since it was an American product, it was release in America first. Then like a month later it released in Japan.

Because Sony is based in Japa, there aren't any import restrictions. They're trying to be loyal to their own country.
We got the 360 before Japan did, and Microsoft is a US company.
Quit whining, the PS3 comes out in a week.

yeah it's made in japan but also amreicans are less tech savvy amongst the majortiy of the population as well. I mean come on they use a dating service that makes your phone ring when a match is within 100 yards of you

Because they made it and anyway America will learn what bugs there might be (and from what I hear IS) in the new system so they can whip up some patches
