My boyfriend and I took a french class together, that was really fun. Also might I suggest a cooking class, or flower arranging? These all seemed to be very popular classes at the college here. Another one I would like to try is photography. I love taking pictures and to learn how to make the most of them would be great, then you would have something really nice to scrapbook! :)

I picked up a set of knifty knitter looms when I was pregnant and haven't put them down. It is a good hobby because you can take it with you traveling, doctors office, etc. and you can always pick up where you left off. You can make a lot more than you would expect on the round looms and you can do it in half the time as needle knitting!

Pick up a couple of packages of polymer clay and an instruction/project booklet from the craft store and try making a few things. Until it is baked, the clay is forgiving so you can take apart anything you aren't happy with and start over. This medium can be very addicting!

It really depends on how old you are and your interests. Often there are all kinds of informal classes available if you seek them out - oil painting, photography, creative writing, sewing, ham radio, flower arrangement, interior decorating, etc. Start a book discussion club or learn to play bridge. Check the community events section of your local newspaper and you might see something that interests you. Most important - have fun!

If you want creative hobby it can be producing any type of handmade designer stuff, souvenirs, decorative items for house and gardens, ship models, even hand made jewerly(many girls make some money on ebay with it). Some people inventing their own idea .Cant remember the name but there is woman in UK or US who invented painting a picture on a feather and made quite much money on it. There are people who are making hand-made collector dolls from polymer clay, collerctor ships from natural wood, hand made furniture. There is a compony in my city who are making a hand made painting on walls for people who want to make their house unique. This compony made just by few students. I have work in compony wich produced souvenirs for tourists such as hand made and painted pictures of city views. If you are enough talented you can just paint and draw and sell this, but of course it needs some skills, talents and luck . I also knew a man who have a small compony wich made pictures on cars with aerography. Now people are making even hand made soap . So the choice is really big and what is more likely good for you you must think yourself. Guitar is also cool hobby, my boyfriend playing guitar though it does not bring him money but it gives a lot of pleasure to him and to me :) So I think you can have even few hobbies if you want just for your pleasure and if you would become skillfull in any of them you probably could earn some money.

You know taking some type of art class can be fun and relaxing. In my opionion, (I think I spelt that wrong. sorry) taking another language is harder. You will have homework, and you always have to study. With art you can go into the class and leave it with no worries about a paper dued.

A hobby which makes you a little busy in your place is to plant flowers/plants/vegetables... if your home area is wide enough to accommodate or if it's not... you can squeeze and use hanging flower pots.
