I think one main reason is over stimulation. You see all that stuff everywhere. Another reason is lack of hope. A lot of people do not see themselves as really making a difference or mattering...therefore they become frustrated and enraged. Also, today is so stressful. It isn't simply going to work or school and coming home...peer pressure, lack of money, no fun etc...is very stressful and depressing...the outlet for this is violence and mis-behavior...

In my own theory, I'd attribute the increase in violence to the level of violence we allow the general public to view on a daily basis. The idea that we are desensitized to the violence has absolutely been proven, just look at prime time television. We expect violence to come into our lives, and so people find the need to commit violence. It is an expected aspect of life, or so the variety of television shows would have us believe.
I truly believe that there has to be stricter ratings on questionable material getting to the public. Television ratings as well as movies and games. There are just some things that shouldn't be introduced until adulthood.

This one is super easy. The answer is drugs. They are everywhere and they lower our standards and expectations and make people mean.

They see it on TV everyday, hear it in music, play it in games. It has become acceptable to them. Which is sad

I think people have been more violent in the past. We just hear about it more these days.
