Communication is the key to keeping a good marriage together. Love, trust, respect, loyalty all depend on being able to talk things over. We stop and talk about anything that arises before it can grow into a big issue. By communicating like this we keep that close contact with each other that is necessary to make the marriage #1 in your priorities.

Communication is such a big deal. If you can't talk to your spouse about what is bothering you they will never know. If you can't talk to your spouse about your feelings you are not being truly honest with them. Letting it stew won't help because one day one little thing will just send you over the edge and that isn't even really the problem. Trust is a good one too. Gotta trust someone to let them near you. Not a good idea to keep your spouse at arms length when what you really want to do is pull them closer to you. Just something to think about.

Honesty and Kindness. My husband and I do not keep secrets from each other. We are honest with each other. We joke and laugh often. We listen to each other. We help each other in the times of not feeling well and help eachother with the indoor and outdoor household duties. We never call bad names. We only have eye for each other. We kiss and say "i love you," everyday.

Always try to bring out the best in each other, and put the other person's needs ahead of your own. Ask questions about each other's work, and try to get out once a week without the kids.

Communicate about everything, go places together, have a hobby together. And then have a time apart to miss each other to get together again.

Question rather vague. Read books on relationships if problems surface. Go to counselling if relationship on the rocks.

I probably get some backlash from this answer, but I can tell you that it all comes down to you 'serving' him. Make him the priority and and he will make you his priority also.
