My friend had to have progesterone shots while going through infertility work up. Helped to 'keep' her body ready to become pregnant.

You can get your progesterone tested (it's a blood test). You should have your levels checked about 1 week after ovulation. It does need to be at a certain level in order to sustain a pregnancy. If you are low you will be prescribed progesterone supplements (usually via suppository).

The cream probably won't hurt but it doesn't contain enough progesterone to overcome a serious deficiency.

I have used the progesterone cream and did not get pregnant. This is a very messy and gross process and when I found out I was still not pregnant, I was very upset.
