I'm sick of carrying around a Palm Pilot and Razr phone when I can get a Blackberry and do everything in one. Problem is that I'm 8 months into a 12-month contract. My service is through T-Mobile, and I want to definitely stay with them. However, will I suffer a huge penalty if I bought a Blackberry and upgraded my cell service to accomodate the new phone?

First off, T-mobile is a great company, good idea sticking with them. Your best bet would be to call 611. No matter what, you will not get an ETF (early termination fee) but if you buy the phone now, then you might have to pay more for it. T-mobile has an 11-month upgrade policy. If you keep your service for 11 months, and then decide to upgrade your phone (and renew your contract for another 1-2 years) then they will give you the cheapest prices for the phone. I would go with the new dash, very nice phone. Also, if you wanted, you could buy one off of ebay, as long as you make sure it says "GSM" and "Unlocked"

You won't suffer any penalties if you add a blackberry plan to your account, but you will if you terminate one of your contracts early, I think it's $250 or something like that. A way around that is to sell your contract online through somewhere like celltradeusa.com and T-Mobile can take care of the transaction over the phone once you get a buyer for your contract. As for the new BB, you will either have to pony up the dough or wait until your contract is up to get a reduced price on the phone.

maximum cellular agencies do furnish a loose improve or a credit in the direction of a clean telephone. i'm with Verizon, and that they have the "New each 2" plan, the place you may get a clean telephone each 20 months launch to $one hundred, or you get $one hundred credit on a telephone it is over $one hundred. you are able to constantly ask somebody at Cingular in one among their shops, or on the client Care telephone type to work out in case you're eligible for any rebates, loose telephone, or in spite of. extra agencies are beginning as much as furnish plans like this to maintain up with the competition. No business enterprise is had to try this, yet many will do issues like that to be sure you reside with them, quite than changing agencies only to get a extra contemporary telephone extra decrease priced and/or loose.
