the best way is memorization... some may say otherwise. It will take a while, but multiplication is KEY to mathematics... if you dont get your mult tables, it will make math more tedious in the long run. (trust me, I am a math teacher). Start by writing your times tables over and over again. Then either make or buy some flashcards. Also, Get your parents and friends to quiz you.

Good luck!

In my opinion, the best way to master multiplication is to memorize the basic numbers. When I was in third grade, we had to memorize the tables. For example,
1 x 1=1
1 x 2=2
1 x 3=3
1 x 4=4
1 x 5=5
1 x 6=6
1 x 7=7
1 x 8=8
1 x 9=9
1 x 10=10

2 x 1=2
2 x 2=4
2 x 3=6
and so on
do this for all of the numbers up to 10. After you write them all out, you just have to keep reading them and try to remember them. Eventually, you will have them memorized and it makes things a lot easier when you start harder problems. Hope this helps. There's many different tricks for many of the multiplication tables. It's a little hard to explain over the computer but if you don't understand then you can always ask someone to explain it to you more.
Well first off just studying them every night and finding your own tricks for them.
Secondly, for the 9's tables you can use your hands, it's really helpful. Say for example you have the problem 9x2, we'll start out easy, you just hold up your hands and start counting. You start on your left hand and cound two fingers over, because you are multiplying by 2. Once you get to the second finger over, you put it down. You are left with one finger up and then eight others, that gives you 18. Another example would be 9x6. Again put your hands up and count six over, because you are mulitiplying by six. Once you come to the sixth finger, put it down. You are left with 5 fingers on your left hand and 4 fingers on your right. So the answer would be 54. But you always have to start on the left hand and work your way to the right hand.
For 10's tables, you just mulitply the number by 1 and then add a 0 to the end of it. An example would be, 10x3. 3x1=3. Now add a 0 and you get 30.Pretty easy. The answer will always end in 0.
For the 5's tables, the answer will always end in a 0 or a 5. Don't know what else to tell you for that one.
For some of the multiplication facts you can find little ways to remember them. One example would be rhyming. 6x8 is 48. If you were to say it aloud it would rhyme. Some other ways to remember them is to just find similarities between them. An example of that would be that all numbers being mulitplied by 11 will always be their same number twice. Meaning 11x8 gives you 88 because its an 8 two times, like mulitiplying by 1 but doubled.
