I didn't get mine until i was 16. I know exactly what you are going through. It isn't anyone else's business though. And you know what- it doesn't matter later on. Your body will eventually catch up. My doctor told me that mine was proabably late because I was a gymnast and because I was very thin. I am totally healthy now- I am 25 and have had 2 beautiful children too, so don't worry, it won't affect you later on either. If you are concerned, you should talk to your doctor- he or she can tell you if you need to be worried.

This is not unheard of so don't worry :) There is nothing wrong with not having you period up until bout 18.... if you're concerned, i suggest going to see ur doctor. If other things are wrong I'd see them sooner... like how do u feel? Tired often? Low concentration? always hot or cold? Cuz these could indicate a thyroid problem which affect the hormones in ur body... but as I said, u are normal. This is just an extreme for lets say if u don't start within 2 years. As for ur weight, u are definitely underweight. I'm about 5ft 4ish and weigh 9.5 stone and even I'M considered on the light side. Doc said a few pounds would do me good. Weight is a major issue with period... if a girl drops too low in weight her periods can stop completely then it creates a whole host of problems, even affecting bones and hair. I'd definitely try to put on a little weight, if not for the periods, just for health in the future. Hope this helps, but remember u have nothing to worry bout :)

The first thing you may want to do is see the doctor to be sure everything is ok. Then it doesn't pay to lie to your friends as sooner or later they will find out the truth. I am wondering if when the subject comes up or someone is complaining about having their period you might feel better if you sort of brag that you don't deal with all problems associated with having a period.

Girlfriend... I did not start til after I was 16. Be glad you do not have it yet. It does not make you any more of a woman...Your friends should envy you...they have theirs and you do not....lol...By the way I will be 40 in 2007, I this past year started my menopause...so I only had my period for 23years and menopausing. Less items to buy.LOL,,, I also did not have my period every month. I always went one month skipped a month or two then period. It was like this the whole time and even after I had my kids. Yes, doc said was perfectly fine just rare. LL.

It's none of their business whether or not you have started your period. Plus, lying would make them not like you. Just say it's a secret.
You could get your period any time within the next two years. Some girls don't get it until they are 17. You could get it on your 16th birthday; you never know.

Don't lie... there's nothing embarassing about not having your period. Some people just start later than others.

If you still don't get it within a few months or the next year, go to the doctor. You might have a hormonal imbalance, or other medical issue that could be delaying your period.

I think 16 is still normal on the later end of the normal range. But, if you get to the end of 16 without it, or sooner if you are just worried, it wouldn't hurt to ask a doctor about it. If you are thin it could be a reason for the delay.

Tell them the truth. And my mother was a late bloomer and she's not flat or anything. She was a voluptiuous young woman,a nd be happy because at least you didn't go throught any of the pain other girls went thru with their menstrual cycles. Your lucky =D

That's a personal issue, and no one needs to know. Tell your mother about your concern and have her set you up with a gyne. appointment. Try not to worry so much, some girls are just late getting started. I was one of them, I didn't start until I was 18 and I turned out just fine. Take my advice, everything will be o.k.
