I will graduate next year with a degree from a local college to be a Paralegal. I am so ready to get out of Wisconsin (where I have lived almost my entire life). I was wondering where would be a good place to start a career as a paralegal. There have been places like Boston Minneapolis and Seattle that I would have like to go but I am not sure if I would make enough to live there just starting out.

Where is your favorite city in the U.S? I do not like the south, I have already lived there. Any cities espically in high demand for Paralegals? I doubt it but it could.

I had planned to move to Toronto but I know I can not afford it right off bat. I'll need a few years experience before making enough.

In Washington D.C., a good paralegal earns as much as an associate attorney, and there is a demand for them there.

I work in the legal profession, and an attorney colleague of mine told me this about eight months ago. Good luck!

I'll be starting a paralegal program in a couple weeks. I know in your question that you said you don't like the south, but I plan to move to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in Texas after I get my degree....seems like a really nice place to live....

You might want to try looking in/around Portland, Oregon. There are a number of good sized firms and the cost of living isn't as prohibitive as other major cities such as Seattle and San Fransisco. I actually know a few people that recently moved to Portland from Wisconsin and love it.
