u wanna make the team u best be hustlin.. coaches don't like players who can't hustle and run for the ball they hate people who fool around so don't do that and be attentive to everything ur coach says. dive for them lose balls. they like ppl who listen and get things right the first time. u seem like you are an all around player. since you said that you were comitted and in shape then you should be fine.. if you are the least bit outta shape and you get tired running you areen't gonna make varsity but since you are in shape it makes it all the better. coaches look for players who have a good stamina, good ball handling skills, ppl who can shoot, defend, pretty much all around players who have a positive attitude. ohh and don't forget to show a lot of energy.

Well I'm a coach for highschool squads and here's what all of us look for. Talent! after that MOST of us look for coachable, respectable, want to get noticed? before try out introduce yourself tothe coach personally and don't be ashamed to say your full name. After that be the LOUDEST on the court stand out in front of everyone A closed mouth never gets fed.

coaches look for players like you that have heart and hustle
best i can add is try to be a team player too, be a good sport with the ppl that you try out with, say things like nice shot and good pass
i think coaches will notice these things too, but if you know you got the skills, dont be nervous and you should be alright

paintings on matters this weekend that you simply would now not be at ease with. additionally, on the tryouts, when you see any one having concern with whatever, support 'em out :) coaches love while their avid gamers are high-quality satisfactory to others, consider me it is helping. the coaches noticed me serving to this woman on her layups for approximately 10 mins, and although she nonetheless did not do too scorching, either one of us made the workforce :) so yeah. pass in optimistic, simply now not OVER optimistic. BE ON TIME! at present, the coaches reduce this man from the workforce (who used to be particularly well) due to the fact he utterly overslept and did not pass to the tryout :l

You're not likely to develop new skills this weekend.
I suggest that you
-get a minimum 7 hours of sleep Sunday night and
-have good nutrition, starting with breakfast (especially protein--eggs, meat, poultry, fish, dairy), so that you're at your physical and emotional peak (rest and nutrition are basic to these) when you actually try out. Good luck.
