They defended NAMBLA (the North American Man-Boy Love Association.) They claimed that it was NAMBLA's first amendment freedom-of-speech right to teach pedophiles how to successfully rape a child and get away with it.

Not everyone in our country is entitled to a defense by the American Civil Liberties Union! And by the way, what NAMBLA does is NOT freedom of speech. What they do IS A CRIME because they are complicit in committing a crime.

They instruct pedophiles in the ways to COMMIT A CRIME. It may be freedom of speech to say that they wish pedophilia wasn't a crime, but IT IS a crime to teach these dregs of society how to lure children into private places, rape them (whether concentual or not, sex with a minor IS rape,) and then not get caught.

This is complicity to commit rape and sodomy of a minor.

I can't fathom that there are people who would rather stand up for the right of an organization to promote child-raping than to stand up for the raped child.

AMERICA YOU ARE SICK.

This is new to me and I no longer support the ACLU.
The right to free speech should end where it can cause or aid dangerous acts on other humans.

The ACLU, which I'm a member of, does not endorse nor concur with NAMBLA. What it is seeking to do is ensure that everyone has equal protection of their civil rights. In this case, yea unto heaven, repugnent, can be prosecuted under current feederal law without endangering free speech. Remember Skokie!

The ALCU defends the unconventional idea that the first modification must be upheld, in spite of ways reprehensible the guy invoking that is. the necessary idea is in case you enable first modification rights slip for some people, it wont be lengthy formerly everybody loses them. i wager in case you imagine that is okay to invoke guilt by association the following, can we sue the NRA each and each and every time someone receives shot with a gun?

The ACLU defends the rights of all americans. They defended NAMBLA's freedom of speech. They do not defend/condone pedophilia in any manner. We should be happy that we have an objective organization willing to defend our liberties in this country. I hope you will try to educate yourself on the history of the ACLU.

ACLU defends all including pedophiles, why do you think John Cueoy is still not being tried? He wants his trial moved - he has a right to ask, ACLU backs up all people, including these child molesters.

Yes, and Tom Delay used their services when he got into trouble.

I wish people in this country would understand that every accused person is entitled to a defense under our laws. It doesn't matter if you are an ax murderer, a cannibal or a pedophile. According to our laws, you get to defend yourself with legal help. If you don't like our system, move to Iran. They have no trials at all.

Sure they would. That is why I call them, American Communist League Union. You and I pay the bills. They charge the government their fees when they win and they the people like us have to foot the bill.
Sadly some people think that they do good things and yet they have done more harm to ALL Americans than anyone else.

I think people do know it defends pedophiles. I don't know anyone who supports the ACLU except, unfortunately, the U.S. government.
