Before you say, GO TO THE DOCTOR, I've just been added to my husband's insurence and they have yet to send me a card. I will go as soon as I get that darned card!
Here's the deal: I'm on birth control and have been on birth control since the birth of my son (14 months ago). I had a really healthy period in October, but just last week my period lasted 2 days and was very light. Can't remember when I last had sex in relationship to that day.
Anyway, lately I've been feeling sick to my stomach all the time. I keep thinking that it may because I fill myself with food too much, but I have been eating less than normal. The food itself is the same stuff as I've been eating for the past year! Nothing is new.
Could pregnancy be possible or could it be something else? Yes, I'm going to take a pregnancy test tomorrow but the hormones from the BC may screw with that.
I never had morning sickness with my son, so I'm not sure what it's like.

I should add that I've never missed a pill.

I'm not trying to be difficult here. :-)
1) The part that gets me is that I've taken these pills for so long and this is the first time I've ever had this reaction.
2) I've just finished the stress of a wedding, but that was over a month ago. :-/
3) The other insurence issue is that it's in my new name, and we're having difficulties with SS with spelling it correctly. That's a different story for a different time though.

I should say that my period has been as normal as can be. It lasts for 4 days, one day is heavy, two are moderate, and one is light. It's VERY predictable thanks to the BC. It didn't take any time to adjust to the BC once I started to take it.

1. Take a test like you said you were going to do.
2. Get to the doctor whenever you can
and last but not least, you should know that women's bodies change everyday and you being on birth control for 14 months could send your hormones out of control at any given time. One month you could have a healthy period and the next no period or a lite period, Birth Control can make you feel sick if you eat too much or not enough, your best bet is to stop taking them if they make you too sick and wait to you go to the doctor and maybe he can give you a different Birth Control or lower your dosage of the one your taking. Some people can do good for a while and then sickness can happen later down the line and since you can't remember when you had sex last it could be a very small chance you are pregnant. I know some women are scared to stop with out taking something else because they don't want to risk the chance of getting pregnant, all I can say is use protection if you do want to have intercourse, but don't make yourself suffer with sickness to continue taking these pills, your body could be rejecting them, ask your doctor.

Take the pregnancy test just to be sure it's not another pregnancy. And remember that pregnancy does mess with your body yes you had your son 14months ago and all but who knows. Your body might be trying to adjust in some weird way. Also have you been on the same form of birthcontrol, and same perscription? My roommate gets physically sick from the Pill, and i've never had a side effect yet. We're all different and our bodies act differently. I'm also hypoglycemic. Food alot of times makes me sick. If i wait too long to eat, and i eat i feel really sick to my stomach. If it's been a while since i've eaten i feel sick. Try to keep a little log of your activities and when you start feeling sick. This will also help the doctor help you. They like to know the details. Who knows you might find a pattern!
Hope all goes well, and you get to feeling better soon!

I take my pills everyday and sometimes at night I feel sick to my stomach. I even wake up sick. Its just normal to me. I had morning sickness with both of my kids and it didnt kick in until like 8 weeks pregnant.. so Im not sure. Usually that isnt the first thing that happens. Your birth control wont mess with the test either if you decide to take it. I really dont think your pregnant if you are taking your pills like you should. I would only assume it is something else. Are you stressed at all?

I didnt get sickness until around 8 weeks and thought great i have no sickness then all of a sudden it hit me so no celebrations yet lol, also it could be a change of birth meaning if you frist had a boy then this could be a girl etc. Try not to worry although even if you had sickness you would probably still wory until you see it is ok on the scan. Congrats and good luck

Good answer ~notaminiV
Sometimes when you are on the pill you have lighter shorter periods, or it could just be that you did not shed your whole uterine lining and NEXT month will be a lot heavier.
I had cysts and adhesions that gave me stomach problems, so it is best to get an ultrsound maybe.
Call your doctor for advice on continuing your pills.

You can still go to the doctor with out a card.
And taking BC will not effect a pregnancy test. It is the hormonal surge (HGL) that build up that make a pregnancy test positive, not the BC.
I don't think that you are.

well 1st i want to say i am 36 weeks pregnant and i felt naushes a week and a half before my missed period...sooo def possible to feel sick early on...it is not completely unheard of to get pregnant on the pill either... i myself am a birth control baby lol...but i will also say it is probably less likely if you are very consistant with the pill....if by any chance you have been on any meds....or mabe if you were even just sick it can effect your birth control pills...make them less effective...but either way nothing is unheard of....i no this was not a great help...but i am no psychic lol...good luck to u!!!
