Simple, all of the Bush lies, and the Republican corruption of this entire Administration. America wasn't enjoying the Bush Dictatorship very much. Myself, I believe in the Constitution and Bill of Rights before George Bush and the Cretans started rewriting it to the best of their convenience. The Democrats have a lot of undoing to administer with the Bush legislature currently imposed, and 300 plus signing statements made to our Constitution. Thank God is still in charge!!!

Well right now the democrats are on top, and before you know it the republicans will be, its all about cooperation, and i could really care less who controls the senate and house, just get the job done, and if the democrats arrogantly abuse the "power" they have they will bring us right around to square one. I am a republican, and I respect most of the reps of the party but the those in the white house are losing it fast. And cooperation is unlikely of course, not the kind we need anyway. I hope im wrong about that though. I knew before this election started the republicans were in trouble.

Heh... A word to the smart: those who stay in glass homes might want to no longer throw stones. First, the senate remains up contained in the air, and that's better probable that it will finally end up fifty-fifty. 2d, a 40-seat majority is hardly a landslide. The Republicans nonetheless carry the White abode and veto skill, and there are nonetheless sufficient Republicans to keep up stated vetoes. I predict, notwithstanding, that's the starting up of the authentic for democrats... See... in the journey that they artwork WITH the president, they lose, alienating themselves from their base. in the journey that they waste time on infinite investigations, they lose, because the american people elect action.

I don't think voters chose the Democrat candidates because they like the Democrats. I think they chose the Democrats because they despise the Republicans that have been dominating the government on a federal level. The voters wanted to send a very firm, loud message to them.
Bush has been completely disregarding the criticisms of the American people pertaining to the war in Iraq, and I think he really needed this proverbial slap in the face. (Perhaps it will help bring him back down to reality. He's been very out of touch with the American public lately.)

First off. People complained about voter fraud in the 2000 election because there was. Add to that the fact that the Supreme Court intervened and stopped the recount. People had a reason to "whine".
Secondly. People keep saying that it wasn't a vote for the Dems but a vote against the Repubs. Well, the same could be said in 2004. Very few voted for MonkeyBoy, they voted against Kerry.
I appreciated the fact that the Dems used the Bush playbook on the close races. Declare victory and accuse your opponent of not being gracious.

They weren't the only ones voting? This year, I saw a lot more people with those little "I voted" stickers than I remember seeing in any other midterm election. This may not have been a presidential race, but it was an election with national implications. Most people wanted a change, so since they got up off their butts and voted, change happened.

The reason the dems won and there isn't talk about election fraud is simply because the republicans decided not to chance it again this year. Too many lawyers and election officials were keeping close tabs on that crap this year!
PS. thanks alex you gave me a great idea, If you can get by with it and people actually beleive you then so can I.

The problem with arrogance is that it blinds you and they did not fully listen to the anger of the population.
It's not that the Dems were better, or had a real plan, but that the GOP seemed terribly out of touch with what is important
