Mercury is 57,910,000 km or 36,001,813 miles from the Sun, on average. It does vary by several percent because Mercury has a rather eccentric orbit.

The Earth orbits the sun at an average distance of 149,600,000 km or 93,004,167 miles. So the distance between Earth and Mercury is only about 57 million miles when the Earth and Mercury are on the same side of the Sun and about 129 million miles when they are on opposite sides of the Sun.

Well Mercury is the closest to the sun if that helps.
