Who killed president J.F. Kennedy?

As the fortieth anniversary approached, I got a pile of books from the library and I went on the internet to a whole bunch of sites and I rented DVDs from various sources. I studied day and night for two weeks to sort out and absorb material that dozens of others had taken years to assemble. I learned there are several real schools of thought regarding the assassination and each has some credible inormation to it.

#1. The Waren commission contends that President J F Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald who fired from the window of the Texas Book Depository building. People on the street heard the shots and one person actually caught a blurry photo of a rifle sticking out of the window. Three shots were fired. The first struck JFK in the back and exited under the throat. It would not have been fatal but may have rendered him unable to speak. The second shot is believed to have missed completely. The third is the one that was fatal. One of the two bullets also hit governor Connelly who was sitting in the front seat. The problem many people have in believing that the bullet retrieved was the right one is that the bullet had almost no damage.

#2. The mob was angry at the Kennedys for cracking down on the prostitution and illegal gambling. So it hired three Frenchmen who came several weeks early and scouted out the areas. Even met with some of the mob big bosses in New Orleans. A DVD I watched had forensic experts setting up lasers at Dealey plaza to determine where shots might have come from. They determined shots could have come from a second building other then the one the Warren commission stated Lee Harvey Oswald was in. They could not totally prove or disprove but did determine the angle would fit from either building.

#3. The Cubans hired hitmen to kill Kennedy in revenge for him sending a team to kill Castro. This theory has been tossed around for years and has a strong following. Supposedly the hitmen played Oswald by having his rifle in the building on the day of the shooting. They fired from behind and from the grassy knoll. A couple of people told police that day they smelled gunsmoke from behind the fence.

#4. This one contends our own government killed Kennedy under orders from J Edger Hoover. Hoover hated Kennedy, thought he didn't deserve to be president and feared he was a security risk for leaving the suitcase with the nuclear missile launch codes with an aide while he dallied with women. This one shows a photo of a rifle sticking out of the window, but careful analysis shows the barrel is too long to be Oswalds rifle. Dissecting the photos from Zapruder it comes to the conclusion there was a shooter in front of Kennedy. That is determined by the direction of Kennedys body movement. And it uses the photos and x-rays of the presidents head to show the x-rays don't fit the description of the wounds as observed by the first doctor to examine Kennedy in the emergency room. The coroner was threatened by secret service men who literally confiscated the body before a full autopsy could be done by him. That violated Texas law. The route of Kennedys motorcade was altered the very day they arrived in Texas. Only someone in the government could authorize that change and Dealey plaza had curves that forced the cars to slow down. This theory also contends that the sealing of all evidence until 75 years after the event does nothing in the public good other than to protect any guilty parties. It totally discredits the Warren commission which many people felt was thrown together much too quickly to be believable.

I feel the whole truth lies somewhere between the four. Either the mob or the Cubans did it and our own government reacted quickly to cover up the fact that it failed in protecting Kennedy. I fear I will never know in my lifetime. I will be 92 before the records are unsealed.

If one were extremely liberal, one might accuse the makers of the Mannlicher-Carcano rifle and the 6.5 Carcano cartridges that issued from its muzzle of killing JFK. Of course, this assumes that Oswald did the shooting with that rifle he happened to have in the Texas Schoolbook Depository...

i beleive it was Lee Harvey Oswald. i saw something on him on the history channel a few months ago. he did it with a russian rifle i think. and i think he was a communist

Organized crime as he was determined to wipe out the mafia in this country. It is a real shame what other people believe here just like it is a shame to believe the 9/11 myth.

Lyndon Johnson seems to have been behind it (according to a documentary I saw a few years back). It just isn't logical that it was Lee Harvey Oswald if you really look at the evidence. There had to be more than one shooter (Penn and Teller my ****!!!)
