cuase i think mine is, i just put a brand new game and it sctached it while i was playing it.. does putting the console upright fix the problem?

i got mine on the release date and have not had any problems with mine. have you tried a disc cleaner to clean the eye in your xbox. might be something on there causing this.

i haven't heard of any new consoles eating discs anymore.. i don't think orientation matters.
the first night i had mine it cracked Project Gotham =(
that's the only game it's killed though
i use it vertically in my room and my brother uses it horizontally in his room.
i've had mine since june with no further problems
usually if you contact the company that made the eaten game they'll swap it for you
also, it's recommended that you not move the console with a disc inside (on or off)

I do not know but would like to just say that I think the 360 is more trouble than it is worth and I would never purchase one. Sorry=(

you didnt move the system with the disk in it did you...?
