They consistantly fight to suppress the rights of Americans to pursue happiness, yet they are some of the main ones in the closet. Why is that?

No I do not hate gays. I am a live and let live kind of guy. I just find it ironic that these folks believe we are going to hell in a hand basket if we allow gays to marry, yet they are living secret gay lives.

You know what? I need to VENT:

All Democrats do not think alike
All Republicans do not think alike
All whites do not think alike
All Blacks do not think alike
All gays do not think alike
All hypocrites do not think alike
All women do not think alike
All men do not think alike

Get the idea????

I'm a super-liberal Democrat for the most part, but for cripes sake, don't you think there can be gay Republicans who don't tow the majority Rep. line??

All of these questions in "Politics" lately are not even questions; they are just bait. Why don't you people ask something you really don't THINK you already know????

edit: Isn't that par for the course in this category: I got a "thumbs down" for telling the truth!

Uh, no. Let's be realistic here. The National Republican platform includes limiting government influence on the rights of liberty among people. A gay American would fit in quite nicely in the Republican forum, why? He doesn't want government to tell him what to do in his bedroom, now does he? He doesn't want government to tell him how to live his life, even if it's unpopular, doesn't he? Too many times people think that the "religious right" runs the Republican party and that simply isn't true. And the "religious right," though outspoken against the behaviors that intrude on what is considered family values, has no affect on a gay person who is not getting married and starting a family and relying on government to help him fulfill this.

Even the "religious right" doesn't want the government to get personally involved in people's lives who do have traditional marriages and families.

So, in short, and once again, if you don't want government involved in your personal life, it's easy to be a Republican.

Not really...
What better way to express self hate then to vote for a party that is actively undermining the civil rights of your minority group. Gay people need to wake up, be proud, and seek representation from individuals that will not sell them out. Homosexuality is just not a legitimate focus for federal or state government. Protecting our nation's safety by not squandering our troops, ensuring a viable economy to keep citizens employed, that is what government should focus on not who sleeps with who.

Foley voted against gay unions over and over. The preacher who advised Bush, Haggard, preached against homosexuality and his longtime male lover outed him because of that. Then there's Cheney whose daughter is in a relationship with another woman and whose wife has written a lesbian novel, but he opposes gay unions, too. What a bunch of hypocrites.

As a republican I constantly fight to suppress the liberal's asserted "right" to tax the hell out of every American for those who don't deserve it

I could care less what you do to be happy, just do it on your own time, thats my motto. If somebody wants to be gay, be gay, you wanna abort? First trimester and I'm fine with it. You want stem cell funding? Me too

And are they hypocrites? Beats me. Do you dislike gays?
