Absolutely Bush owes the Troops an explanation and an apology. With Bush firing Rumsfeld right after the election, and not before the election, even makes it more viable for him to do so...What a looser Dumbya is. How compassionate is the moral values of the Neocons here?

You must be able to discern the difference between the actions of Bush and Kerry. Bush's job, whether or not you agree with his reasons, is to protect this nation.

Kerry got caught in a situation normally reserved for Bush; he spoke without thinking. I have no doubt he did not mean to say what he did, but rather intended to bash Bush. However, his comments came at a bad time for his political party. If this was not an election year, Kerry's comment would have blown over with no direct apology to the troops necessary, but that was not the case.

So, to answer your question, no, Bush should not have to apologize to the troops, and Kerry should not have had to apologize either. Bush is doing his job, and Kerry made a mistake.

What have you done for the troops? I don't read anything any your question/statement regarding your stance on the troops. All you are doing is using them to insult the President of the US. Or are you trying to defend Kerry? Either way it's pretty low.

Bush can apologize or not, it doesn't matter. Kerry could have apologized or not, it doesn't matter. What has been said is done and apologies don't mean a thing in politics.

I would have Bush apologize for sending out our sons and daughters with insufficient training, poor body armor, no strategic plan, and then leaning back in his comfy chair in the Oval Office and bellowing, "BRING IT ON!!" like the armchair warrior that he is.

That disgusted me. The man has never seen genuine combat, and John Wayne war movies don't count. The insurgency did bring it on, and so far we've 3000 + flag-draped caskets to show for it.

All the apologies in the world won't bring back our brave, dead soldiers.

What Kerry did was a poorly timed gaff. What Bush has done, and continues to do, is criminal.

Observe Veteren's Day. Almost 3,000 men and women can't.

Why? If our troops are as dumb as Kerry says then they won't even understand what he is saying. Kerry only said that it was aimed at Bush to gather up his Bush-hating sheep while he still could. What does Bush have to apologize for? He didn't force them into the military. They knew what they were getting themselves into when they enlisted.

He should eventually apologize.

The best thing he can do is say me messed up but that this incoming Congress will work together to make things right

I must say, Bush, and company was slingin a lot of mud, yes he should, but he never does apologize, thats why he is standing alone, he has lost his top advisors, one way or another.
Its sad, almost 8 years now, and he is still slingin mud instead of leading by example

Bush must apologize to the troops for being in Iraq and the Democrats must demand immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

dstr, you seem like such an intelligent person, yet so unable to handle any kind of disagreement. Sad, since your views are parroted by so many who have no idea what is going on in the real world.

And it was most of the US which demanded the apology from Kerry, and he was sanctioned by none other than Hillary, as well.

To date, I have not heard Hillary asking Bush to apologize to the troops, nor anyone else in Congress, who incidentally voted to go to war in Iraq.
